I (Stacy) was not at Burning Man in 2009, and there was no pageant... but that did not stop Miss Nowhere 2009 from claiming the title of Miss Black Rock City 2009! ISN'T SHE PRETTY? "Since being discovered in the wild landscape of Nowhere, Spain, (this photo) and winning Miss Nowhere 2009 with a feral and shameless performance, Miss Prehistoric Hysteric has gone on to feature on the pages of "Hola!" magazine and has produced twin cubs from an onstage interspecies liason. Her official duties so far have included being Auntie Terrors Personal Cheerleader at the Black Rock City Roller Derby. This lead to a collaboration with renowned San Francisco stylist Pink Feather which attracted the attention of L'Oreal, but most importantly gained Miss P-H the coveted Miss Black Rock City 2009 title. She looks forward to being a model spokescreature for Burningman and Nowhere, and appearing between Beyonce and Eva Longoria in a televisual commercial soon."

I handmade sashes for this year, using buttons for bling that we took from a stash that my Grandmother accumulated over a lifetime. I still have a huge box leftover... for 2009, perhaps?! I have said for years that everyone wins by participating... now it is *really* true! :)

This was taken after 2nd cancelled pageant. Stephanie (pictured right) from New Jersey received a sash, after participating in the tiara workshop and attempting to participate int he pageant (twice!) Ali, Miss Firefly 2007, was also crowned Miss BRC 2007 in honor of her dedication to the project. A special surprise was planned for 2007, every participant was to receive a sash. These two special people are the only ones who got one, when the pageant was cancelled due to storms (twice!)
