MISS LONDON DECOM 2008: PAGEANT OF SELF-PROCLAIMED BEAUTIES
Friday December 5th
2AM
Calling all Self-Proclaimed Beauty Queens! Represent your camp, your neighborhood, your friends, your pets, or just yourself. This is not your mother's beauty pageant. Anyone can enter - and everyone wins! Plastic surgery, an eating disorder, Vaselined teeth and double-sided tape are not required.
Participation is open to all men and women, who are invited to reveal their unique inner beauty in these three categories:
1) Fashion: Show us your personal Decom Style!
2) The One Minute Talent Competition: No rules, and everyone has a talent - be it a stupid party trick or a fine art!
3) The Interview: Do you do it for world peace, the children, or for the puppies!?
All finalists are beautiful and everyone wins by participating. And remember, Miss London Decom 2008 will receive special attention at the Miss Black Rock City 2009 on-playa event!
NOTE: No Beauty pageant is fair, bribes are encouraged. Participate for fun, rather than play to win!
Too shy to participate in the event? We encourage you to do so anyways; however, donating a creative Gifty Prize to the pageant participants is a great way to share the wonder of your camp, your art, or yourself with both the participants and all audience members… without that mortifying stage time. Can you offer a massage, have you got a cute crafty object you've made which would be an amazing prize? Or maybe you have lots of stickers and swag left over from Burning Man that you can't wait to share. Email your intentions to karlachameleon at goingnowhere dot org and share the love!
We don't just need prizes... we're also looking for a few good volunteers: Stage Managers, Judge Wranglers, Contestant Fluffers, and more! We're putting together a small crew to make sure things run smoothly and we'd love to have you participate with us!

Hello all you lovely, beautiful people...
It's almost time for the exciting start to the one and only Miss London Decompression 2008 pageant! Have you got your Miss name? Sashes ready? Glitter eyelashes applied?
Well, get cracking and get moving cause we want to see you there- on stage competing or in the audience cheering our contestants on.
The 2008 Miss London Decompression Pageant will be on the Quixote's stage at 12.45 am.
Contestants should come to the Quixote's area 30 minutes before the start (that's 12.15am) to fill out their applications forms and get their instructions. Rumor has it there may be some of the judges milling about in the area if you want to put in a good "word" for yourself, or for your favorite contestant. We only hire the most upstanding, uncorruptable citizens to be judges in our fairest of fair competitions, so bribes are obviously futile!!! Haha!
